A billy goat would work on that cow-We have a solid red shorthorn that is 0 bw peoven ez calver--has cunia leader plus ,double vision K and A Shakedown (ton cows and BADDDASSS) Proudjazz and Creole-and its impossible but hes triple clean-His 3/4 sib pictured won the iowa beef and a bunch-last picture ( Sullivans nat champs were there,)won  AKSARBAN, and won division at the Royal- SHE and a 3/4 sister will be at the JR Nationals as cow calf pairs. The bull is called Fresh Air-he was a 24-2500 pound bull-his calves have sold-showed well-1st pic  is a plus-he sired the champion (young calf) heifer at the badger kickoff-a real powerfull bred that sold this winter etc. Theres a calf and yearling plus pics of him.The last pic is his 3/4 sister ALSO A CREOLE-AND SHE IS A POWERHOUSE - shown at  the Royal This is a good VERY high performance bull with good bws and NO RELATION to the new show genetics-mostly oldschool with alot of the old fullblood x clubby Shorthorn that worked so well with pre Sullivan Shorthorns-AND WOULD WORK WITH THAT KIND OF COW O0

Mark, that bull is interesting. I'm not a JPJ fan, although I have used Damn Proud. You would think with Creole and JPJ they would be pretty moderate.

Jim Compton has some semen-Hes got alot of the right stuff-Jazz is his grandsire Creole is his sire-so hes a fit for trump genetics -hes massive to be a CE bull-and would make 2 of alot of popular bulls-especially after they melt. His dam  and cows on back were 1800 pounds plus-Which offsets the jazz moderate frame altogether with no sacrifice in BWS so far although no bull is foolproof If you want to PM me I"ll hook you up O0

Knabe and Doc-Sun. I'm glad you have finally seen the value in that Prospector bull. Although that cow is nothing less then picture perfect. It's really a good feeling to see such a great outcome. Good job guys.

more on the bull.  I think Euro-pursang Livestock Ltd may have owned his mother and flushed his mother after a calf every year for a while.  That flush yielded 8 calves registered in Canada in 1982. I think Euro went out of business and Dick Barkhurst purchased Epl Prospector 240P and 242P (champion calve's sire).  He did not collect 240P, said 242P was a better bull so he collected him. He kept mostly females from shorthorn cows from the bull with pigmentation on their udders and teats as he liked that due to more protection from sunburn from the sun when it snowed. Thunderbasin (who owned thunderhead, the bull, not the horse) used him a little. I liked a bull in his background, Vainqueur, and 242P goes to him the quickest of any animal available. Vainqueur is the only bull Harlan Ritchie took a picture of fullbloods of when he was in France and said he was the best bull there and he was looking at Atan, Cunia's sire, saw Cunia's mother and some other prominent bulls I can't remember. Anyway, I haven't been set up to use the bull so I think it's really cool someone else is able to use him. 242P is homozygous for Tenderness 1 and 2 for what that's worth. Maine's are mostly homozygous for tenderness 1. Not sure that matters any more as marker people say those original 3 or 4 gene panels don't explain much of the tenderness variability.


Would like to see the heifer continue to be used as a fullblood. Again, GREAT JOB ON BUYING THE EMBRYOS AND SEEING THROUGH SHOWING!!!!!!

I would want to see how she developes RE how deep bodied she becomes-The cow pictured is to me a freak for a fullblood the way she is made,in a very good way-. Maybe the prettiest girraffe necked full blood Ive experiensed of all (and sound and A CHANGER-HUGE BUTT) was Vistas sentra (18U) He wasnt a heifer bull-but just nailed it on Shorthorns and made the dairy look dissappear in ONE SHOT-I dont see why he wouldnt work on full bloods today-they would just need rib-Harold Hoskins and Ed Grathwohl owned him-he was Calf Champ at Denver way back in the day Hoskins turned every daughter into a Shorthorn and got away with it for years-He really was something Exclusives Carrie-reserve at the national Jr show-1991 was sired by him-NOT GR Exclusive-She was even bigger than Cedar Curve Colleen-The last time I saw her she went close to 2800 pounds most massive thick female Id ever seen-that includes the maine cows-Studley-who won Louisville-and just never sired much other than Stella my old doner(Cumberland THIRD HI OF THE BREED 1999 AT ALMOST $16000 AT 6 MONTH +- OF AGE-i BRED HER AND HER MOTHER) Studley also was actually a bonified ce BULL HE WAS ALSO ACTUALLY EXCLUSIVE  CARRIES CALF saw him as a baby in the pen O0
