I have  7month old breeding heifer she is a crossbred. She is afraid of tractors due to an incident she had the last time she was tied to one. I need her broke an walking great by march for beef expo. What can I do? i tie her up everyday and she still wont walk she either stiffs up or runs an bucks an kicks. Please help me!!!

Do you have another calf that you could have someone else put on a halter and walk with this calf? Sometimes calves respond to a calm voice. One of the things I always do is try to keep their attention while walking them. It may be a quick straightening of the halter or a slight slap on the nose. Some calves react poorly to the slap so be careful. I'm not an expet at this so that is all I will say. Good luck to you!
