Anyone ever had a calf that would never go in a creep feeder?

The best way to creep feed is to replace the pasture corral gate with the "creep panel".  Place a small bunk in the corral and hand feed them everyother day with fresh creep.  You will have a lot less waste and the creep will be fresher.(no critters in the creep feeder either). They get accustomed to you feeding them and they will be waiting for you to show up. When its time to wean just shut the gate and load them on the trailer.  The calves are gone before the cows even know what happened.

Maybe this is how crop circles happen, cows looking for calves? Seriously, if the calves have too many options to explore they will tend not to venture into the creep feeder.  Try a smaller lot or pasture and I think you will be more successful. I also  place a pan of feed inside the feeder to coax them in. Try increasing the size of the hold by replacing cides with gates to encourage more use.
