I did check it out a few times.  I really like the format, and the easy of viewing the calves.  I did not do any bidding, but it seemed no more difficult than bidding on E-bay.  The ability to pay for purchases through a credit card or paypal makes th process very easy and secure for both parties.

I think we are going to see a lot more of these in the future.  May even replace private treaty sale??? Who knows?

It's pretty easy to set them up and pretty darn cheap too.  Check out Maxanet.com for the software Breedersworld used for it.

So in Sullivan's case, did they go through Breedersworld, or did they go through maxanet.com?

Breedersworld uses Maxanet.com and puts their header on it.  Notice how on that auction page if you right click below the header, it's a Maxanet URL but at the top it's a Breedersworld URL.

I know this may be a crazy idea, but months ago, there had been a lot of talk about doing a steerplanet sale.  What if an online sale was put together that allowed members to consign calves to an online auction?  The members would be able to keep the calves at their farm?  The consigners would be responsible for pictures, videos, etc.  And they would also have the responsibility of showing people their calves if they come to their farm.
