That's funny because i guessed it was a bojo on the other post without seeing the replies. Our bojo is looking better everyday, if i could change him i wish he had more flex up front, he has always moved unorthodox. The calf we have is out of a Laredo x Draft pick cow 5/8 maine, so we used him on sound angus cows this year in hopes of improving structure.

Well, we only got one calf out of him and I hear he's working elsewhere so decided to try him again...just used 2 straws.

interesting that you used a bull that caused structre problems again
Show Steaks I know I tend to use bulls that carry some structure issues on cows that have no clubby breeding. For the simple fact with those really good structured cows, I tend to get steers that are too sound to make really good show prospects.

I know that I shouldn't put up my personal evaluation of Bojo, but here it goes. I honestly wish that more PPL could and would. IMHO Bojo is too strait fronted and turns out up front. He was also roached up in his top & is moderate to moderate +. I saw him last as a coming 2 year old. That is just one person's evaluation on one day. Take it for what it is worth. I am at a stage in life where a bull will more than likely have to prove his worth through his progeny.

Just so PPL know, I am extremely critical and have never found the perfect bull. I always can find things that I don't like about cattle and move on from there.

Thanks for putting that out there CAB. I used Bojo without seeing him in person. I'm sure he will work in some cases, but when ours was born he way too straight up front and the cow we used him on is sound. I think she would work better with a bull with more angus like Monopoly. We bred her to Boardwalk this year (again, an unproven bull-I'll learn someday). The calf has gotten better in structure as he's grown.

Its just your opinion CAB. I like hearing what people think of a bull, because a lot of times they point out things I missed in evaluating the bull, good or bad. nck21 I think Boardwalk will probaly make 'em a little more sound than bojo, but thats my opinion, take it for what its worth. I like Boardwalk alot, he really has the Monopoly look.
