Also what blades can I buy for my 'Andis Deluxe Groom Clippers'? I just bought them last year and I don't know how long they should last.
How many bottles of black velvet dye should I need for a pair of 1200+ pound black animals? I don't know if I'll need it for both of them but I'll buy it just in case. It says on Sullivan's that you'll need 3-4 for a 1000 # so I figure 5 for a 12-1250#?

Adhesives- check the rule book at the shows where you are at. Some allow zero coloring agents in show preparation products. Andis has  website with all the recommendations for your model of clipper. Most clipper blades can be sharpened and do not have to be bought new every time. A barber shop can tell you where they get their blades done or you can go on Ebay or Amazon and for 96.00 get your own blade sharpener.

I found if you know a beautician that its cheaper to buy human hair dye and it last longer. A licensed professional can get a discount at Sally's Beauty supply and get the stuff cheaper. We worked with a family friend that specializes in color for human hair. She looked at our sunburnt orange spots heifer and recommended a color that nuetralized the red and made the black really black. You will color less with permanent human hair dye than with some other stuff on market. Developer for human dye is cheap and mixed our developer then we brush it on leave it for hour. I used 4-5 boxes on a yearling heifer of human hair dye with a one to one ratio of developer. If you have an area that is really ruddy or red sometimes the black velvet will only make it brown. Our colorist was able to get the right dye that is made to nuetralze that. It may be too complicated for some but I like even clean deep black on black animals.
