DIGIAL SUBLAXATION IN SHORTORNS

there was an article in the new shorthorn country about digital sublaxation in Shorthorn calves . i guess it is a skeletal abnormally that is starting to show up. Any info on this? where is it coming from? Is this something else we're going to have to worry about when trying to select for breeding shorthorns?
