Feeding rice bran to cattle

I was talking to some friends today about trying to get some more fat on their steers.  They use rice bran on their sheep and it works very quickly. Can this be fed to cattle. If so how much do u feed and does it have good results compared to rolled corn.

Start with a pound a day and work them up to 2 pounds. If you were to do a search on here for stabilized rice bran you will get a plethora of information. If helps put a nice smooth layer of finish on the animal, and will not burn of the hair.
