We posted a thread on here showing the effects of the early winter storm in South Dakota the first of October; thus far, very little has been done in D.C. to assist the ranchers whom suffered unthinkable losses.
However, in the private sector, there have been efforts to aide them....

Heifers for S.D. brought in over 600 donated bred cattle last weekend and divided them among those suffering the greatest...

watching some of the videos of those ranchers who received animals and reading of the devastation first hand from those at ground zero, brings one into a better realization of how unspeakable the losses were for them.

Atlas Blizzard Ranch Relief and Aid has been selling donated lots to raise money for immediate needs for those affected

the fund for affected ranchers has grown into the millions with roll over auctions in sale barns, private donations and corporate donations coming in, some in the amounts of over $100,000.....our own local salebarn in one day raised over $90,000;

it seems like alot but when you calculate the losses in dollar amounts, even with assistance, these ppl will struggle for a number of years to get back on their feet; however, the generosity of the ppl of the world (donations have come from all 50 states plus several foreign countries for the Ranchers Relief Fund) makes it possible for those wishing to continue in ranching to have the opportunity to do so.
