I know I posted last year but I am looking for some new ideas to raise funds for an upcoming cattle show. I pounded the pavement for donations and had many generous donators but could have used more money. Is anyone know of any grants out there or any suggestions. I was actually thinking about a Super Bowl board but since we are running our funds through our fairboard I don't know if that would be legitimate to do. Keep in mind a portion of our proceeds goes to support a charity. We are actually thinking about the SD heifer relief fund but that was just suggested. Any opinions would be great.

I have pounded the pavement for donors too.  Have you considered sponsorships?  Set up amounts for banners/signs to be displayed around the ring, booth space, etc. and sell these to local businesses (feed stores, farms, etc.).

I did many many sponsorships. Our local sale barn was really great and gave $500 but our community is primarily about sports and not big into ag so it is really hard. My kids play sports so I am not anti sports but it seems like most donations go to sporting events. Keep the suggestions coming please!

Raffle half a beef?    If there is a feed yard that would donate a steer or heifer that maybe doesn't fit a load or something, or even if he would make a deal for you?  Check with locker about the cost of processing, to book the beef.....
