We have a fall born Simmi heifer that refuses to eat out of a feed pan. The only thing she will eat out of is a long trough with our cow/calf pairs. She is a rocket and has gotten away with this at two shows and won her class both times. We do not want to haul a long trough to shows. Does anyone have any suggestions to help her eat.

Tie her up and make her eat out of a feed pan at home just like at shows don't give her the option she won't starve herself

Yup, limit her to feed out of pan or no feed at all. She'll get hungry enough.

Try by putting the feed pan in the trough, then out of the trough, then away from the trough, and so on and so on.
