I had a conversation with a vet in regards to clones. He said he thought the clone's were NOT as good as original because they used some old dairy cow's egg. So, if they really do contribute mitochondrial DNA <1% then why not use eggs from some kick a s s donor cow.

I am not that bright but may be some of you folks who are can help me out on this one.

Your vet is correct. The "host egg" contributes a wee bit of DNA, which for true breed purest is a problem in the fact that, all of sudden that purebred whatever, so no longer purebred.

See, I was thinking, if you used one of the great club momma's eggs and tried to clone one of the great bulls would't it be better? Some folks swear that Heat Waves do'nt breed true to the orginial. I haven't tried the Who clone or Ali clone. I did try Heat Wave clone and we were satisfied. Knabe why don't you experiement with that.

don't need to.  trying other stuff.  how about a 97 cow x 70 bull?
