Hip width

Good afternoon everyone. We have a Brangus steer, 1 yr old, 1010 lbs, came from good reputable breeder with good genetics.  Very sure footed, big boned, good hair, good top and solid front, very powerful.  BUT, very narrow hipped for his size. Looks almost perfect till you look at him from behind.  Eating 20-24 lbs p/day of purina honor show chow finishing touch and using high octane depth charge supplements.  Just can't get him to round out and bulk up through his hips.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Thank you.
