How to get baby calves ready to sell

What works best for you to get a calf ready to sell? What feeds work best? Are there any tricks that make the process easier? Thanks

For hair you just have to work it, wash and brush it will eventually train its self

Just FYI...I think "baby calves" and "feeder calves" are two completely different animals.

Sorry for the confusion. I mean baby calves that will be sold on labor day. People around here call the feeder calves.

Ok...must be a regional thing LOL. When somebody says "baby calf" I think of a calf on the cow, and "baby" means "baby"...like less than a couple months old.

A feeder calf sounds like you're talking about a weanling. I don't know exactly the day a "baby" becomes something else or a feeder becomes a "feeder" unless it's weaning time...that's kind of a milestone in any calf's life. Not trying to tangle you up in semantics...just trying to understand the post. I'm thinking maybe "young" instead of "baby"???

I'm still not exactly sure I know what kind of calf we're talking about here lol

there are very few 'tricks' to do anything but cheat in life...

The only 'trick' you need to have- is genetics.. if it isn't in the calf-- it's not going to get in the calf. and why would you want to present one in a sale looking this way from a 'trick'-- when it's going to fall apart for it's new owner b/c they don't know your 'trick'.

I like your user name-- it works for adding depth as well as any-- mixed with beet pulp, liquid molasis, cottonseed hulls, oats, SBM, and well-- I guess you could just look up AAOK's ration-- it's the best I've found.
