WOW... they say you learn something new every day, well whoever said that wasn't kidding! What did I learn today? I NEED TO LEARN TO TAKE DIRECTIONS BETTER! 
)) lol. I'll go through this QUICKLY, as the details get kind of boring.. and well... lots of yelling and laughing between my mom and I.
I work at a bull stud. There's a certain gentleman that is a steerplanet member who tends to come up every so often for nitro (and maybe bring us ice-cream or something (clapping)) or anything else he may need to drop off, ship, ect. WELL, we were talkin' last week about a heifer he had for sale.. fit my 'wish list' PERFECTLY. Told him I'd be in touch. Came home and, of course, had to tell 'boss-woman' about her. She said (what she ALWAYS says...) "We'll see".
I get off work this evening, come home, just lounging around the house when mom shows up. Says 'You wanna go look at a heifer?' Of course I jump up and say, "YES!, where at?"... "Well, what about that one you told me about last week?"... "Lemme make a phone call, i'll check"... So, I anxiously make the phone call, the gentleman says yeah, sure, come out! If you could wait till it cooled off, that'd be best.
7:00 pm-ish rolls around, and we head into town to check on the brothers (cleaning the camper-- county ended yesterday). They havent killed each other yet, so we head west. NOW -- mind you -- i take MENTAL directions lol. Mistake, i know. So, were drivin west into town, mom says, this turn, right? i said yes mother, this turn, you've hauled cattle out here HOW many times? (laughing at her by this time lol).. so we drive... and we drive... and we drive some more. Pretty soon i hear 'I swear we passed a 'Welcome to Kansas' sign 5 miles ago.. then.. OH CRAP! we missed out turn to the gentlemans place lol... turn around, go back. SOOOO... were drivin east on a county road... and it seems to go on FOREVER.. and i remember something about a big white mail box. well, we pass one, but it looks like the gate just leads to a pasture, so we continue driving. Then, we hit a minimum maintence road... interesting drive to a Y in the road.. so we turn right lol... LOADS of deer on the drive, thats for sure. We hit a STOP sign about 10 min later... and i look at mom and say "I think we missed out turn...". Turn around, go back to the Y.. but this time continue east... then it jets back north. "mom, i think we're really lost!" (shes threatening my life now.. according to her, we've been to kansas, turned east, went clear to iowa, went back north to eastern nebraska, and then back to colorado...).. SOOOOO, we turn BACK around, go CLEAR back to the white mail box.. and wouldnt ya know... thats the road were supposed to take lol...
Get to the home place, and good 'ole Cowboy's standing there wavin' lol. We get out, go walkin' down to the pen where he had the pairs brought up, and oh my goodness boys and gals, if you need a showsteer for next year.. COWBOY'S GOT THE HOOK UP! (thumbsup) (clapping) There are 2 little guys (well, not so little lol) that caught my eye first off (chrome may have assisted in that
) that are thick, thick, thick while still maintaining soundess. They've got a good future ahead of 'em, for sure, theyre the real deal. Then we looked at the heifer I went down to see, she is just plain good, my type of female. Sound with loads of potential, she's got my eye for sure. Then, finally, after meeting all Cowboys girls, and coming up close and personal with the worlds biggest puppy dog and a good conversation w/ the kind sir, it was, sadly, time to leave. So mom and i loaded up, headed back UP the drive (that was so impossible for us to find) and back out onto county roads. Let me tell y'all, if your ever in Cowboys area, make sure to stop by and say hello, he'll make it worth your while, my cheeks still hurt from laughin
