I'm done, for the "best" conference, the big 12 always lays an egg in the ncaa tournament.

As the NCAA tournament selection committee likes to say, look at the total body of work.  The Big 12, this year, had the best non-conference record of any.  Kansas consistently ranked in the top 3 or 4 RPI and all but 2 teams spent some time in the top 25.  According to the records, the Big 12 has gone 33-30 in the last 5 years of the NCAA tournament.  Hardly laying an egg every year.  I enjoy watching basketball games of all leagues and I will say I have not seen an intense of a tournament as the Big 12 tourament was this year since the old Big East glory days.  Big Ten, Wisconsin and who else?  SEC, Kentucky and who else?  Pac-10, Arizona and who else?  Every Big 12 tournament game was an absolute knock-down, drag out battle.  You could make the argument that the Big 12 does not have that one title contending national title team, but from top to bottom, there was none better this year.  The non-conference record offers the best proof we have.  It's over 10-15 games, not just a one and done deal.
