i realize we have a heavy heart now and i very much do too. But death is apart of life. I am glad Cathy got to do what she loved doing on her "day" Not everyone has that opportunity or is that lucky. God Bless Red and may she be at peace.
Moving On.
5AM Saturday morning - we depart for Columbus.
5:05 AM - alternator goes out of truck and we drive back home in the dark.
worked on that sucker for awhile then went and borrowed a friends truck. and then we went with no problems. Typical day at the show. Clipped some calves and went and looked around the trade show. Eventually ran into Q. a very informal introduction on my part and I understand he was in a fierce battle for some semen and i accept his apology for being "non talkative" lol. headed to the genetic pathway. searched for the lady with the red hair and the cookies. guess i was a day late and a dollar short... shorthorn Cinch and Obama looked good.
remainder of Saturday was spent clipping. watched some of the maines sell before that. high seller was 18.5k. then went over to the deer and turkey expo and looked around. some big racks over there. deer horns i mean....
went to motel. ordered some sandwiches while amusing my self to one of the menus from Columbus area. this restaurant is called PJ's. apparently they have "Fat Sandwiches." including the fat Indian. the fat cat. the fat B****. the fat Bas*****. one of the specials was the drunk Eddie. was a incredibly unhealthy burger with a case of natural light. you had to see it to believe it. and no. we did not order from this place.
was then kept awake until 1 am while some drunk folk were on the balcony being loud.
next day we were in the last class for both steer and heifer. had plenty of time so went and checked out the trade show again and had a hat made. pretty cool. black and camo. then went and bought a new diamond plated show box. awesome. new show stick. awesome. traded some wahls for New Andi's. extremely awesome. no comparison.
fitted calves - idk what it was. all the heifers in my class were antsy. a little boy almost got trampled while in the make up area. in class a steer on the other side got loose. then when we was going out, my heifer was starting to act up. then another heifer went nuts and kicked my dad and pushed me into the gate. of course the steers were obedient
loaded up went home. saw 36 deer on the way home and stopped at charlies steak house.
had a good time. real good time.
some other things happened in the bathroom too funny to mention that made the trip (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol) but if you PM me. i might tell you ;D
thank you for reading my story
