This is our purebred simmental bred and owned steer. I have posted pics on here before of him, but we took him to the MSU Bear Classic this last weekend, out for the first time. He needs more feed (weighed in at 1280), but placed 3rd overall. He got beat by some really nice clubby steers, but only we could claim the "bred and owned" title there, not that it was worth anything!!! For those of you wondering, he is a STF/HR Dominator by a Shear Force daughter, April 2nd calf (2011). He was the first calf she had, as a two year old, and he weaned off more than half her size! She is lucky if she is 1050 pounds, and he weaned off at 780!!! She is doing an awesome job raising an embryo calf this year, and has been bred back already for next year. A really great cow!

There is something about having a bred and owned champion steer. I know that the people that buy steers work their butts off too but raising your own High Quality Steer is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Great job!!
