We just bought a new herd bull.  His half brother by blood on the moms side is I Da Man.  He is a registered half blood shorthorn.  Can't wait to see his calves.  He has multiple champions that are sibs or half sibs.  We will be selling semen on him as he is going to bull stud this week.

NOT TO WORRY-this haf Irish hillbilly from the West Va border IS a big drinker: so before the apple pie calms me down too much- I can say that I hope I da Man-moderates the Solution Bws a little-and he bodies down some like the females in the pictures- Albeit-they"ve had every "beauty treatment" a show hiefer could endure and sure look beautifull.Hes bred a little like Man on a Mission at Dunk Cattle co- I dont know how he turned out but he sure showed some promise at least in the pictures.Id like to see more natural pics side and butt before making any kind of judgement call-Just cant tell much from the sale picture-but I like the pedigree O0

He is a solution out of I Da Mans mothers sister.  So there is no I Da Man or Who Da Man in him./// meant the lower bw chain of things from the cow side-who da man etc are excepionally good ones,so short of past history on the cow-I would make the assumption that shes pretty good in that respect-let us see some yard pics of him -behind-and side-in your travels-the one you have shows him in grow mode a little leggy . and certainly younger than he is after the sale if his yearling wieght is good and he starts to body down-dats a good thing O0

Nice bull from the photo.  He reminds me of Crimson Tide, one of my all time favorite bulls.  I would like to see a video of him before making final judgement.

Only seeing a photo of the bull without a video or opportunity to see him in person. What do you think he brings to the table for Shorthorn breeders different or better than what is out there? Are you targeting shorthorn folks at all? Are you targeting the club market?
I always like get an opinion from the owner. I figure their was a reason you purchased the bull and are spending money on marketing. Top side is repeat of lot of the show genetics out there. Bottom is repeat of club genetics. I haven't figured out what is in the dam besides Heat Seeker. Ma x AN is all i can find when researching pedigrees.

So here's my issue. The top side of those genetics in our experience require supplemental feeding. They were not "easy keepers" and they did not carry flesh unless we supplemented grain. Are there full sib males in the breeding arena for reference? I see his pedigree for purple ribbons, but I want to know if he is functional in the sense, lower birthweights, maintaining body condition without supplementation etc. Is there a video somewhere of him? I am not trying to bust your b*lls. I would like to see something "new" in the shorthorn arena that differs from what we have today. How is his temperament, do you have any scrotal measurements, ultrascan data etc...

To my knowledge there are no males besides I Da Man which is out of his mothers blood sister.  We haven't got all the measurements or scans yet as we are just fixing to take him to stud.  Only had him here one week.  As for condition we feed all of our cows so he will be fine, however I see him staying fleshy as he is on minimal grain right now and still looks great!!!  And in the birth weight area he was I believe 89 pounds.  He has been tied up once and is almost leadable already.  We aren't in the shorthorn breed per say, we have two nice shorthorns most of our cows are angus or maine angus.
