My parents were cleaning out old pictures and they found this one.  It was a polled shorthorn bull that my Grandfather bought to Canada from Carnation farms in Washington state.  We can not remember any of his pedigree or his name.  I do not know if Carnation farms still exist.  My Dad remembers this bull laying by the dugout all day under the willow trees.  When the cows would come up for water he would breed who ever was in heat and go back to laying under the willows.

I'd say that's one smart bull. He didn't run down the hill and breed one. He didn't even walk down the hill and breed them all. Nope he layed in the shade and let the cows come to him. This made me laugh. Pretty deep bull. Maybe a little to short of a neck but overall a pretty cool bull. Thanks for sharing

Carnation Stock Farm has been gone for a number of years. I believe it was owned by a large corporation much similar to the Shorthorn herd that was owned by Massey Ferguson. I remember this bull that your grandfather purchased but I can't remember his pedigree offhand. I will see what comes to me today.
