if he's young enough and you can teach him to pick up his feet, you can stretch him. there's a few threads on here of what you can do. if he doesn't have spastic pareisis, you can use pressure massage therapy. the pressure can be a little unsettling at first for them, so go slowly. you can also probably notice which side he is shorter strided on and work that side a little more. teaching a steer to pick up their feet is like a horse. start slowly. hint, it also helps them be more comfortable around that area later during fitting assuming he thinks you aren't trying to pick up his foot when you want it to stay there when you clip it. sometimes you can train them so well, that they will pick up their feet if you approach them with the same way you are going to pick up their feet, since if they are stiff, it probably feels good to stretch.
