Steer with eye problem

My larger steer cut his upper eyelid open sometime this morning. I have the OSU vet on his way out here. It seems that the steer can still see and he is acting okay and eating. My question is will this affect his show career? I will update with what the vet says but I am wondering if this will end his show seasson before it even starts. Thanks

Had a bull do the  same thing long time back, never affected him.
