Can we talk about why structure seems to be far less of a concern in the UK than it is anywhere else?

A couple of those bulls look genuinely great, but the high seller and a few others look like they couldn't walk to the other end of my pastures. I can't imagine they're really as unsound and harsh as they appear, so what's the deal?

I'm super interested in hearing about how people raise cattle and farm in other countries.

I get the idea that the cattle in the UK don't have to walk as far as mine to graze. Was commenting to a fellow breeder down here about the very 'posty' hind legs on a lot of the bulls last week, after looking at the 2017 UK Beef Journal I received in the mail last month. That said, there are a lot of great cattle too!
Always am concerned when a breed becomes fashionable and cattle that should be hanging by their back legs are being sold to new breeders to start their new herds. Have been breeding Shorthorns for nine years and am still to sell a breeding female as I always say that I wouldn't be selling her if she was in my herd's better half!
Best foundation females I ever acquired were from dispersal sales, those bought from breeders by private treaty always seem to have bred themselves out of my herd. There was a reason they were being sold!
In this day and age, buying a few flushes after identifying your ideal animal(s) is the way to go, in my opinion!

Some good bulls this year. Near to shape that I'm looking for. But, they are too leggy and short ribbed to my interest.
I need cattle for grass, not to stay inside a garage eating grain or high quality silage.
Some small framed bulls with deep ribs and full of meat, like it!
