Success of the Shorthorn breed

The Shorthorn breed has been successful due to many reasons. One of the reasons has been that we have kept our color. I believe that this will prove to be a major role in coming years if the market continues to look for more marbling, choice carcasses, and great tasting beef. The Shorthorn color will be a clear marker for buyers who are wanting these traits.

The main reason we tried and and will continue to use shorthorns is the docility[/b (our blacks needed some assistance in this area)]!  The first sale I went to was in central IL. and I got hooked on how the calves looked and how they acted! (clapping)
