One of my heifers has a front right teet that is swollen. When I felt it, it was hot and felt like a hard knot the size of a baseball. Just wanted to know if anyone knew what it was. It has been like this for 3 weeks
thanks
probably too late to do anything-- might have saved the quarter if you had milked it out in a day or so-- mastitus and the infection it carries are causing the heat -- dairies in the old days would milk by hand and massage the quarter and some time break up the knot and get everything going-- never to perfection but enough to keep the cow in production.
