Been away from the planet a while. County fair and breeding has kept me busy. Sad to say, we also had many rumors flying about our grand champion steer and a lot of grief was caused. I swear county fairs are some of biggest pain in the necks ever. Aw well, we had some fun too!
Life's real good and my little sister kicked butt this year. Among other things, she was champion market beef showman. I wasn't so hot but I did bring the Champion cow/calf pair. Angus cow with a LimFlex calf at her side. Now, here I have a question. Is there even a registry for LimFlex cattle? If so, do LimFlex calves have to be out of a registered cow and bull? So in my case, a registered Angus cow and a registered Limi bull? That crossed my mind yesterday looking at Lim bulls to turn out. Also, I have given in a little to my addiction to the show ring. A local Lim breeder is helping me look for a good county fair steer. After going to the bottom of every class with my well fed, FINISHED, and powerless straight Angus calves, I was a little upset. However, I plan on bringing one or two home raised calves again next year. Also, we're pretty sure we're gonna get a Limi bull turned out this year. We need to get crackin' on that deal, but bulls ain't cheap. Anyhow, I have mentioned the fact that I have some "larger" Angus that are actually a little bit showy. I would really like some Angus bull recommendations to add muscle, power, and some style and hair. Thanks again.
