One is at least a 20 ft . self feeder for weaning calves ,had one side of it completey full no room to get in it tonight ,but it wasn't calves it was RACOONS ....wENT TO ONE that didn't have any cattle in it and didn't get them counted but emptied my shot gun and got 5 I think ''''
Good thing I have gentle cattle ,have shot over ten altogether and dogs have killed some ...Not much fun to tell you the truth out there in the night shooting at coon's ....Wife tried to hold light .  I must have really good feed.....

It is hard to believe how much feed a racoon can eat. Two falls ago, I ran out of bulk show ration so I purchased a pallet ( 40 bags ) of show ration to keep my show cattle on until the feed truck could bring more bulk. I stacked it in my barn, and the next morning the bags were all over the barn floor. I doubt if there was more than about 6-7 bags left once I scrapped up what they had not eaten. I got a bunch of them a few nights later though. I put several pie plates around some show ration bags and put a mixture of Coca Cola mixed with fly bait in them. The next morning I had 19 dead racoons. This mixture will kill them and they are usually lying dead within 10 feet of the dish. It must kill them fast. They are attracted to it because the Coke is sweet, and I have been told that your cats and dogs will not touch it. I have used this in my barn for several years and I believe this must be right as I have never seen any pets go near it. I have found dead coons within 3 feet of the bait, so it must do a number on them fast

Dogs and cats will drink that stuff JIT, but it works wonders and I use it all the time.

One evening this spring I went to check on my steers and had a few coon in the feeder so I started setting live traps. Over the course of about 3 weeks i got 18 in all. No matter the size they all have to go!I use dog food which they can't resist. I havn't had coon in the shed for a long time now. Good luck, happy hunting!
