So my little sister got a Heifer this year for FFA. There is a show this weekend (maybe for points I dunno) and she is going, may not enter a class, but kinda going to see how it goes.

Have absolutely no idea how to clip her. There are only a handful of Heifers in our barn, but most are slick. Cant seem to get a clear answer on how to clip her. Been grooming her daily, fluffing with a blow dryer then grooming down with the brush. Get lots of mixed messages on this.

She is an 8mth old American Red Brangus, about 600lbs, and a snot on the lead ( she either halts or runs..very rarely will she walk with my lil sister. Though she is very nice for me) Stacks well though, has been responding well to the stick.

Picture taken on the day she arrived 11.19.10 I believe. She has gained and grown since.

there are quite a few videos on youtube that might be helpful...i just did a search of clipping a show calf and a whole list showed up...that's a good place to start...

another thing to do is when you go to a show, watch the people working in the chutes...you can learn alot there too....

you might even want to hire a fitter the first couple times you go out to a show, a reputable and experienced one of course, and watch and learn from them...
