good question.  a local rancher uses whey with hay to good effect.  cattle love it.  it seems to pencil out.  they deliver it to tanks from the dairy to you.  they have to go over a decent grade, so even after those fuel miles, it penciled out after removing the moisture content.  he uses it to grow stockers and as a finisher to a small amount on a trial basis.

A lot of your bigger labeled products that you squirt out of a jug are simply this!  I recommend it.  We've seen increase in appetite, especially at shows.  Calves gain quicker and I've seen it grow better hair.

I've heard that it's really good for helping increase fertility in bulls, especially yearlings.  We've used it a lot for our bulls and have had good luck with it.

Careful with the wheat germ so the cattle do not bloat.  Limit feed it for sure.  I lost a good club lamb because I introduced it too fast.
