Hello - we've heard lots about folks who are tired of bidding on cattle - so we are trying something new at M Lazy Heart Ranch.  For our fall heifer sale, we are posting a buy it now price.  If you don't want to pay this much, then you can make us an offer.  After the sale time ends, Nov 11, we will consider all offers and bid the cattle off to those who had offers in before the deadline.  It is somewhat of a compromise.  We tried to price cattle fairly, but don't want to keep all of these heifers if the asking price isn't met.  Let us know what you think of this sale method - videos and pictures going up today - sale posted on www.mlazyheartranch.com

interesting approach.. I've thought of doing something similar..

My concern was loosing those "on the fence bidders", and those who just buy b/c they enjoy the hype and action of the momment..

Basically, instead of doing a public auction, you're going more for the public private sale by setting your price..

If  you have two bidders interested on one calf, will it be opened up to bidding?

This is cool. I have never done this with cattle, but with other species, I find it works best for the ones that there will def. be competition for.
