The Big Show / Re: Thoughts on PVF Insight

That video has me concerned with his overall movement. Just looks uncomforable. Not fluid at all. Maybe its just my eyes they are getting old.
Are you looking for something to breed your pretty roan too?

OB - I'll have to agree 100% but there has been a lot of buzz on that guy. Go figure. I believe there is a full bother on a video that IMO was more functional. I think his name is Radiance.

He just needs to be designed a little different through the shoulder region, IMO. He's pretty steep in his angles with those front feet and legs not having too much room but to toe out and the knees to come forward. He's a question mark when you start to feed one like that as heavier weights can take a toll with mobility. I do hope he can stay sound because he looks like he will have a lot of meat in him.

A friend in Iowa bought some semen and I looked at his video. Thought he looked good, super thick (one of the chunkiest Angus I've seen) and put together in a nice package. My main concern is that he does not want to reach out on those front legs and is pretty choppy on the move. With that said he will sure work on the right cow if he breeds true to his appearance. Should help downsize and thicken up the race horses.

Like her breeding and look. I can see a potential I-80 or Benz mating in the future.

Our heifers are not fat and were not fed hard all winter. They are Amen daughters. We calved Amen daughters last spring out of I80 and did not have the size that we are currently getting out of Daddy's Money. The heifers are full or half sisters to last years. The Daddy's Money calves are doing really well once we get them out. Very powerful. What is the name of Daddy's Money's brother?

What is the name of Daddy's Money's brother?
[/quote] JPF Team Blake. Owned with Martin Livestock And Jon Pettigrew. JPF Code Black sold in Denver is another full brother. IMO, all pretty good bulls.

Is that Tex Prime Time?
No, that was "David", owned by Bright Bros. in Cal.. His sire was "Lerch".

Couldn't agree with you more ZNT. The color system is simple and it works not only in the show ring but in the real beef world. To me it's the only way to divide these classes fairly without any bias.

I breed a few hereford cows to this guy in the mid 80's. Thought he was pretty good for his day.

I think your cows' genetics may have added to his power. I've always thought he was going to sire some stout calves but no cow killers. I liked Daddys Money but think his full brother might be more practical with a tick more refinement in structure.

Attached is a December BCII Skyfall 2812 x KNC Cabin Creek Sandy 905.  Just a sampling of a Skyfall calf we have here.  The mother of this calf is a full sib to the mother of GQ.  For sale private treaty at the farm.

Like her a bunch. He sure looks like a calving ease bull. Are they coming easy?

All bulls listed saw some use. I don't know which Sunny View bull you have in the tank (some of those were really nice pedigrees). Enticer, bred by DMCC, is out of a really nice cow and could work on some small framed cows.

Here is a picture of a 65 lb heifer calf sired by Moto Moto out of an I-80 2 yr old heifer.

Moto Moto pictured as a 3 yr old.  His calves start out small, then get wide.

HAB - I believe you've sold me on Moto Moto. Heifer calf in pic looks pretty special. Hope you keep us updated on her progress.

From a pedigree standpoint this guy is really linebred especially on the bottom side. Goes back to some great producing cow families as well as any bull out there. I think he would work on cows that are very correct in their design with very little of the same genetics. I would think big footed Angus type cows would click as well as anything.

Saw this on facebook, thought it was pretty neat.

That's an impressive looking bull. What's the date of photo?

With what you discribed, I think Gucci would be a safe choice. He would help loosen her up a bit over the top and give you calving ease. Mercedes Benz and Comfort Zone get a little too close genetically for me. Moto Moto would be another option that is unique, especially if you want to add hair quality and outcross genetics. If you get too much clubby or Maine in the mix then it can sure get yourself backed up against the wall with limited options on female offspring.
