The Big Show / Re: Lee Pitts

Last year at our local barn a 600 pounder high-jumped the retaining wall into the auctioners both. Only way out was the back door. Believe me the steer was not the first, or last one out. Now thats intertainment!

What a catch buy the left-handed cop! Sure would have liked to see what happened next. Wonder if he got a dally on the cruisers door handle?

Our Durham bull reads like this,

BJR Easy Rider 781
Beckton Lancer T A664
LCHMN On Target 1016E
LCHMN Pikes Peak 8210

Any comments on what to expect? (I know nothing of RA bloodlines) He'll be available for lease, we'll use him very limited.

It's as simple as black and ----- (all other colors). Before Gene-star, Angus were superior. After Gene-star they are not. All it's been is a bullying ad campain.

The cold water thing makes sense to me. If your promoting so called superior "Angus" carcases, how are you going to explain a 10 star Shorthorn?

I'm assuming mama has some Simmy in her, she's the same color as baby. But daddy is registered *free red red red Shorty. Thank goodness nobody has a "rat tail".l

At this time Nick has no outside, personal or family ties to the breed. But he does take his job as commercial director very seriously, and makes it personal. He has been working on the road, based from his home in Columbia MO. It's my understanding the other names are Melroe, and McMasters.

The Big Show / Nick Hammet for ASA secretary.
« on: March 03, 2007, 07:01:33 AM »
The board of directors will have the opportunity to place Nick in the position of secretairy soon. No where will they find a more intelligent, ambitious, more dedicated individual than Nick. He has been working several years for the association as head of the commercial marketing division, (the Durham Red program is his brainchild). Nick understands what direction the beef industry needs to head, and knows there is plenty of room to expand Shorthorns into their wrightfull share of the market.

I support Nick Hammet

The Big Show / Red, maybe a Brad Hook medely?
« on: March 01, 2007, 12:27:24 PM »
Red, for those of us that only got a glimpse of Brads performance, (what I saw was very entertaining). How hard would it be to put together, or is there already, a clip of highlites?

The Big Show / Re: Any Roping Horses for sale???
« on: February 28, 2007, 08:01:43 AM »
You'll have to find somebody down on their luck to get a roper bought for 3000. Most guys wouldn't part with theirs for any price. A young well trained roper will bring from 5000 up. Same for barrel racers.

And no, ropers and barrel racers are about as genetically different as a club steer with spastic paresis, and a Santa Gertrudis heifer.
