This topic is locked.  I welcome all discussions, and have a pretty lax policy on what can be posted on the big show, but members need to treat others with respect.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact me or another moderator.

Kinda caught me by surprise, but snow does equate to that much rainfall.  I would have thought that snow, slowly melting would really saturate the ground, but from what I heard the conversion is 10 inches of snow to 1 inch of water.

We are 1 step up from a drought in eastern ks, we did get some rain last year, but still sorely in deficit because of a couple real bad years.

Adobe products are the standard for professional editors.  I would recommend going with photoshop elements, because it builds a good base and familiarity with adobe products.

We set a record low this morning of -4.  You guys need to keep your cold and leave us guys from Oklahoma alone.

-4 you say!  We just wear a light sweater at that temp. Yes, it has been a bearcat for weather for the past several weeks. Sorry that we had to send it south and east of here but after that many days of wicked weather, we really didn't care where it went as long as it left here. Each day this week is supposed to be better and melting by Saturday. I heard on the radio yesterday that with the wind chill it was equivalent to -64F. A person did not have to think about what to wear, as the only thing that made sense was to wear everything you owned. Where I live in SE Saskatchewan, our worst weather usually comes out of Montana - in summer or winter. This time it came from the Artic and possibly even from Siberia. Hopefully that is the last real nasty stuff for this winter.

 :o

I think we got to -20 windchill.  Problem is Kansas is we are a bit of a tweener between the north and south and a ton of houses (my included) run off heat pumps.  Once you hit about 25 or below, it starts become real inefficient, heat strips kick on, and your meter goes round and round.  I kept a fire going on the 2 coldest nights we had, but still a losing battle on keeping that house real warm.
