Milking ability is only 20% hereditary. I don't know for sure what the percentages are for udder quality and teat size. Just guessing I would say more inheritable than milking ability. That is strictly a guess though.

Firewater probably not good for dispositions. Some of them have plenty of attitude!! I've had some good Bohannons and Diablos.

To my knowledge most IVF protocols are not using FSH. I may be mistaken though. ;)

Any chance of you putting up a short video of your calf on the move? May could either confirm or possibly illuminate the spastic paresis for you.

Kinda late to the party Steve. I really don't have much to add other than I did buy a bit of McKinley & Burwell. Won't get calves until June and late Setp.

Dandruff is usually caused by a fungus called Malassezia so yes it may be worth a shot. That's why Sullivan's make Fungus Fighter. Another to approach it would be to get some Fulvison capsules for your calves. one treatment usually works to rip them of ringworm but 2 are recommended. Ringworm is also caused by a fungus. Good luck. Also maybe just run a stinky old goat buck in with em. The old timers say that a rank Billy goat will keep calves from ever getting ringworm and a lot of feedlots have a billy running in their lots.

So please give us his pedigree as far as what you know even if it is just like on a 1/2 SM or whatever you know about the bottom side. I really like the looks of your bull.

It would be more common to not freeze than to freeze at this age. I'd wait 2 to 3 months and try him again.

Have you tried a soap that includes a fungicide?

The Big Show / Re: Does anyone still use AAOKs recipe?

quick answer Mykayla you can use beet pulp in place of the CSHs. I've used all three of these ingredients at that same time, CSH, SBH, & beet pulp. I have used whole oats in the ration, added Sure Champ sometimes. Extra SBM will be the cheapest way to raise protein levels I think but don't really know in your area. Bottom line is that it is a great ration IMO and if you can mix it yourself really allows you to be the master. I'm not going to say anything more because pretty soon you'll have so many recommendations that it can get confusing. If you have a nutritionist that you trust that would be a great resource but most are affiliated with some company and are wanting to push their products which they should be. Good luck!!
