Took a daughter to one of the first shows of the season. this one is Afterhours x I am Legend and was Champion Market heifer and 4th overall at Kirkwood Hoof and horn show on sunday. She will sell on our online sale November 3rd. We kept every heifer for the replacement pen and saved 3 bulls as well.

The Big Show / Re: optefex« on: June 13, 2013, 10:04:14 AM »
optiflix and zilmaxx are different products. i have used Optiflex last 42 days of finishing. make sure your animal is really sound and fat before you start. It will add volume of muscle, especially in the top and hip, but will also put some shoulder on them. if you feed past the 42 days it can start to effect movement in sound animals and i would not recommend using it at all in cattle that are too straight to begin with. They will also gain weight at a faster rate, so take that into account as well

The Big Show / Re: Bull choice« on: May 24, 2013, 08:28:19 AM »
to clarify, is she a virgin heifer? Ali is her sire? if both are true, you probably need to look at a bull like Northern Impovement or The Answer. proven calving ease pb angus bulls that should give you some extension and look. The Maine calving ease bulls are mostly descendants of Ali and i would stay away from doubling that up. if you were really fired up about something clubby you could go with Total Solution as an outcross. if she is an Ali, she would be 50% maine and calves from any bull would be registerable as maintainers.
