2011 Ford F350

I looked at 2011 F350 on a back lot at a Ford dealer yesterday. This was a diesel(their new motor), 4x4, leather int., automatic for $55,758.00 . The thing that caught my eye was how ugly the dually fenders are. The truck itself had a great review in the Progressive Farmer this month.

Kind of an oldschool looking back fender.

kind of like dodge's first attempt at a dually fender, an afterthought.  for being so obsessed about boxing up the front end, it doesn't look consistent.

My first thought too.

First thought that would stick out at me would be the prices LOL. Nice lookin truck, and I do agree on the fender thing.

I believe the fenders are done that way, so when you inevitably sideswipe one of them, they can replaced off the shelf.

I'd buy some aftermarket fenders that look like normal ones.

Anyone ever blow the inside dual and had to replace the whole fender?

More than once! Any one ever have a dog run under the truck and have a cow take off the whole fender?

Who needs fenders?  Just take off the outside wheels and save money on fuel and tires.  (thumbsup)

i've always been a diehard Ford guy.  I thought they lost their mind in 1988 and it took a long time to pull their head out of the sand, and then I think they lost it after 2003 and haven't figured out how to regroup. ???

I sure enjoy my '83. I tell ya, out here in boon docks colorado, I am a high roller with my 351 Windsor and XLT "deluxe edition" with power windows and locks.  ;D I think going back in time to the old trucks is the best. Just can't beat the good old ones, no matter how many new cool things they come out with.

I have a 2000 F250 with the 7.3, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.  Especially a new one (price and engine).  I plan to drive it until it fall apart up under me.

go hook onto a trailer any longer than a 24 foot alluminum... and within ten minutes of driving u will realize the need for dual wheels... ive got a 40' Hefty and without a dually i wouldn't be alive today cuz that sob walks the road even with a dually

What made me think of it was my vet went through a rough patch about 8 or 10 years ago when he and his partner split the practice.  He was the junior partner and all he got out of the deal was an old Dodge dually that broke down half the time and was missing one fender and had the outside tires and rims removed.  He made that thing go for about 3 years before junking it, but you could tell it was him from a mile away.

To me, it seems they just make them more and more cartoonish. I liked the 99 and some of its lines. But if you look at how exaggerated the front end is the rear doesn't surprise me at all. The Chevy has also exaggerated the front and rear. Dodge was first with the big nose they put on and they have brought it down some since Nissan started funding the Ram. Don't like the wheel wells at all on that Ford.

Easy way to fix the fender problem (for some people).  Put on a flat bed with a bale mover. 

I'm driving a 2011 today (maybe trading in the 2010 on it) and all I can say is it is quite impressive. These things have got the power, and just going around town according to the computer I'm getting 17 mpg. Now the price tag is scary ($61,000) but it is a King Ranch. Love the truck though.
