Watch as the grand champion and reserve grand champion Angus females were selected during the final Angus event at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Ky.

THey are picking heifers with more natural thickness . Liked both these heifers from the video ,the Reserve really caught my eye ,wonder what sire they are out of .....

Pioneer really seems to be working. I have heard even though he is a frame 5 he is breeding bigger than himself. What is everyone finding ?

I bought a Pioneer heifer last fall and she is smaller framed than her genetics on her maternal side would suggest.  The Genex rep said that Pioneer brought her frame size down.  I don't think she is too small though and shes a very nice heifer (good conformation, muscling...).  I was concerned about who to breed her to due to her size as I didn't want to lower the frame score anymore on her calf.

I didn't like the Champion heifer I'm afraid to say. I just thought she was a little over cooked and she was rather patchy. The Reserve Ch. from Champion Hill was very well grown and powerful for her age. This is one to watch!
