i had contacted them after she was bashing the judge before the fair even started.  i got the answer that facebook is an open forum and she cand say whatever she wants to on it.

Facebook is an open forum, but it also can be printed out!   A private citizen can bash any one they want.   But when you take on the responsibility of being a 4H leader, you really should grow up and rise to a level of respectability!!!!    Provide a copy of this public rant to your extension agent immediately.  4H Leaders are supposed to be examples.  Crummy comments can be made in private, but when they hurt the young exhibitor, it should be everybody's business to shut them down.   This 4H Leader is shameful and should be replaced.  IMHO

And next year, BRING THE HEAT, win both shows......that will shut em up.....or not.

Its leaders like this that I am no longer a 4-H leader.  I wanted to help everyone that I could.  But it seems to me more and more its about there personal agendas than about helping the youth become knowledgable and successful.

Great observation.  You got down to the root of many problems with the local ag programs, having fair boards with personal agendas and egos, rather than working together for the benefit and education of the kids.  BUT the reality is that you can never get rid of that dead wood because the good old boy system is alive and well.  We just keep on trying to do the best we can in spite of the negativity.

We are chipping away at the good old boys on our fair board now. We have three left to go and we will have a pretty good board without alot of the good old boy politics on it (hopefully). RW

If you don't put a stop to it it will only get worse. By not defending yourself you open the door for them to think that they can walk all over you and get away with it. To many time fairboard members and leader feel that they are above the rules off the fair and can do or say whatever they want and not be held accountable.
