The first calf is a April bull sired by Ali, out of a Angus x Maine female. He is PHAF/THF by pedigree. With a weight tape he's right about 500 pounds a week ago.
The second is a mid March steer sired by Eye Candy, out of a Moody Blues x Maine cow. He was taped at 550 pounds 3 weeks ago. (This is the calf I had that had an impacted hairball completely blocking his small intestine this spring that we had to operate on to get it out) He's recovered nicely!
I'm really pleased this this pair of calves, just wish the Ali calf had been a heifer to hold back. I've got 4 cows now, and darned if he isn't related to everyone of them, kind of making it hard to justify keeping him around! I have his mother, maternal grandmother, and two bred yearling heifers that are sired by a Ali x Who son.
