Religon is a fairly personal thing for me and I'm not particularly outspoken or "preachy", but I just read a local "sports" story that literally caused me to tear up - involving a recently paralyzed football player and a "stupid" horse that is an overwhelmingly obvious example of God's plan for someone.

If the link doesn't pull up, go to the Fort Worth Star Telegram and pull up their sports writer Jennifer Floyd-Engel.

Touching story ! One of my very best friends has very little use of his legs and can walk some with the aid of a walker but spends most of the time in a wheelchair. I have a different view of those in this situation b/c he and I hunt & fish together. I pray this kid will overcome this and for God to give him the strength to accept whatever happens in the future.

Wow..that is very touching indeed.  Made the hair on my arms stand up when they brought the horse into the story.

Neat story!!  Its great to hear what's right with the world once in awhile.    I agree the whole facet of the horse was pretty amazing!!!

Precisely.  How many roping horses in the whole U.S. lie down on command?  Can you imagine how many times that horse got a good cussing?  And he "knew" all along what he was supposed to be doing.

Whether going through tough times or not  I think it will make us stop and think, and realize how lucky most of us are.
That horse is nothing short of amazing in my mind. Hope they have lots of treats for him!

When I worked as as a vet tech we had two horses in the clinic once, one injured and one sick.  The injured horse belonged to a family of a girl with Downs Syndrome.  The horse was justa grade horse, but was quiet enought that the girl could trail ride with her family and even show it.  The sick horse was a Tennessee Walking Horse stallion valued at around $50,000.  We all knew which one was truly the most "valuable" animal.
