the only problem crossing the american bull to exotic cow is potentially how much american characteristics. We have always had better luck throwing an exotic bull on american cows then vise versa... the bulls you named should work as they have for many other just dont be too set on it being american enough comin out of an exotic cow sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. If you could post a pic it would be easier to compare which bull to match her though.

yeah its hit or miss. those that are on the edge are the ones that do the best in the ring. and also do the worst. (as me and dcc show cattle know  (thumbsup))

Thanks.  I have a few brangus cows but their frame size is extreamly large.  I dont think they will throw a calf with a mod enough frame to work.  i guess i could use a smaller clubby bull, but i dont know of one that i like enough to buy seman on.  what is yalls opinion?

On straight brangus calves you have a really good chance of getting a calf that would class, on a crossbred american cow not so much.

A guy once told me that it was better to have quality instead of quantity if you arent confident in a bull to use it might be worth tryin to wait til you find a cow to base your work around and start small. Remember though a live calf is worth so much regardless ai sire or just a regular pasture bull. Just some tips I haven't done this long but have been around some extremely intellegent people in the business. But on straight brangus cattle we have had luck with jimmy the greek, power plus, heatwave, and ammo.

Will jimmy the greek or power plus downsize the frame enough to make it work?  I know we can alter its fed to stunt his growth but i dont want to make it too difficult to manage.

All the jimmys have been bred to fairly moderate cattle so im not to sure there but the power plus for sure has kept them the right size for med and heavy weights all have shown around 1280-1320 pretty fresh and thats december and january babies. If you want to try it you still have plenty of time to work it out we are just now tryin to get cattle bred. I have a power plus out of a quarter blood brangus female that will be in San Antonio if you would like to see him.

as a brangus that calf never got higher than 3rd we switched to ABC and he is undefeated. One show we even showed him twice once as an abc and once as a brangus (doubled entered him) just to prove a point about somethin the brangus they talked him down due to never havin hair in the summer yet as an abc they loved him and even used him as division champ a couple times
