I would raise them where land is cheap and grass is plentiful, and sell them where the corn and/or oil money is . Just saying...

The exact places alot of the calves sold in Texas come from..

With all the breeders and sales in Iowa I would have figured someone would have said either Iowa or at least the midwest.

Jocks find them and then bring them to Texas to be sold and shown.  Texas is where the bulk of the money is at and it's been like that for a long, long time - since well before the mid 80s when I first became involved.

You northern folks that haven't been down here have no idea of the magnitude of our shows and the supporting industries.

Texas? If there are so many good cattle in Texas then why in the world are there so many cattle from SD, NE and IA sold to Jocks in Texas!!!!!! LOL!!!!! My vote is the upper midwest. Always raised the best cattle in the country.

If these breeders u speak of had any idea of the kind of money the steer jocks turn down here, they would definitely raise their prices.

I think the first pictured calf is better then OK. I kinda like him. The other calf looks like he might use a softer foot, but might get better. Texas is always a good place to sell calves but sales are good in numerous States. It just depends on how much money you are trying to get.

up north the populatons are 100 per square mile:) and the ratio of cattle to people is rediculous. too many cows not enough people so you ship em here to good ol texas.

But i have to say texas to be honest is the best place for "hair cattle" the weather conditions arent the best and from where im from there arnt that mant people to show against everyone comes from 100s of miles just for one jackpot. the competition just isnt great.

id go where there is snow it equals good hair and good shows like denver
muscle matters.....limousins have it. :)
