Really like my Limi steaks, but one of the best we've eaten was a 2 yr. old shorty heifer.  She was a late May born heifer that was to small to sell in the fall, kept her back threw her out with the replacements and if she got bred good if not good. Well she came in open, wintered her, she went on grass in the spring for about six weeks then on grain for about three and lost her head - mm  mm good - still makes my mouth water.

We have had just about every breed out there including watusi, angus, herfs. simmi, short, dairy, beef, you name it we have had it (besides that Akaushi, never even heard of that one) one of the best we had was a nutso rodeo heifer named fudge and she was awsome, but by far the best beef I have had was out of a 13 month old murray grey bull we raised, grass fed, the meat was lean, and I could slice threw it with a fork and there was a ton of flaver and juice.

Two years ago I paid $19 for a wagyu hamburger in Las Vegas.  OK, it was a basket meal.  It was alright, but no better than the angus x hereford burger I have in the freezer. Can't beat the angus or baldy beef IMO.

Well I'm most partial to a Simm/Angus but I say as long as it's home grown (with at least a little Simmy in the background ;)) the breed is far from the most important thing!

The best steak i ever had came off of my Limi/Angus steer. He was Grand Champion carcass at my county fair, He sure did taste GREAT and was super tender!! I hand made his feed ration and made him a plan to follow. He had a 16" Ribeye and yielded a Choice carcass. I hope his brother tastes just as good!

This is a pic of the Limi/Angus Steer.
