I just got out of school and got my cold box finished about a month ago,  I'm getting up at 4:30 in the morning and rinsing but then after that I don't know how long to brush each side if the steer.

Im not sure that it is the amount of time you brush. I know people who this time of year brush them dry under fans. I personally brush getting as many of the hair follicles going the same direction to train the hair then blow dry under fans. Then spraying show sheen and again brushing the hair until i see good direction of the hair then blowing and brushing the sheen in. This has worked for me but its just a matter of personal opinion.

We always told the boys, use your left arm on the right side and the right arm on the left, brush one side until you can't lift up that arm then go to the otherside and brush, once you can't lift that arm go back and start over.  ;)
The brushing dry behind fans is a good way to time yourself, it will take about the same amount of time each day and the hair will get worked. Just try and start on the right side one day and the left the next, this way you make sure you are putting the same amount into both sides.
