As some of you may know, I have been working on my MBA and I am now in the final project/thesis stage. I have been approved to do a business plan for turning my commercial cattle operation in to a club calf operation, as final project. I was just curious if anyone here at the Planet had a business plan, or words of wisdom they would be willing to share with me as I dive in to this ever expanding topic?
Just as some background information, I am located in Eastern Oregon, where the club calf industry is not very big at all; infact, mostly homegrown or salebarn cattle are shown at the local events. I do not expect, nor believe I will make millions, but it is a way for me to get involved and help some local kids. My project will begin with five cows with the intent to expand within the next 1-3 years, as we are able to secure more land.
