This is a calf we raised, don't know if he is a JPJ or an Alias. His dam is half Shorthorn half Simmi. Born in April. What does everyone think? Hes obviously not blown or washed but he was roughly clipped out last week, weather has been bad

Hard to tell but if I had to guess I would say an Alias. If he was a JPJ he would be 3/4 short, and i would think he would be colored a lil different.

That calf needs to be in a showring somewhere.  He is huge boned and stout.  Looks like he might have some hair too.

May be the angle of the third picture, but he looks very straight on his back legs.  How does he travel?

Yea Slick I do think its the angle..I see what you mean but he does walk really well and he's not near as straight as that picture looks.

He'll be a great one then!  Good luck with him.

He's certainly a stout made calf with lots of bone and rib to burn.. wish he had a little more width from stifle to stifle and fullness to his lower quater and was smoother blending in his shoulder but with some fat cover and hair u could smooth that up
