Hello all. This is directed to any of you cow lovers in the Atlanta area. A young man is being transferred to Shepard Hospital to rehab from a terrible accident in May This is his story
Banks Ready was in horrible car accident. He was airlifted to The Med in Memphis. Both his arms are broken in several places, his right elbow is crushed, and his right femur is broken as well. Also, he has a tear in carotid artery. He underwent surgery to flush and clean out the wounds and temporaily fix his injuries. He still has not woken up. Since then, they have had to put a probe in his brain to keep a read on the pressure to make sure there is no swelling. Please continue to keep Banks and our family in your thoughts and prayers as he has a very long, hard road ahead of him.
It has taken him some time to wake up and be stable enough to fly to Shepard where he will continue his rehab care. If it is like most rehabs he will have to continue to meet the goals set so the insurance will keep paying. Sad but true.
He was in Memphis where his family could easily access him and now since they have to work to pay bills and to keep insurance they are worried about him not having friendly faces. I am hoping there might be someone who knows someone that could just say hello to him. Yes he ahs shown horses but has a love of cattle as well. He is an outstanding young man and still has a long road to recovery. They are close to the cap on their insururance and there is an auction going on online to benefit him. Yes there are horse things and stud fees but there are also jewelry, hats and a custom drawing and lots more. I know the cow community is a wonderful place to raise a child. So if you have a moment and live in the area or know of someone that works there, please share a smile with Banks.
