I don't have to explain how bad the drought is getting in the Southern states, so I would like to start a post of all you Midwest feeders to get your name and contact information out there.  We ourselves, are looking to start weaning most of our older spring born calves, with the intention of selling them direct to a feeder, or possibly doing some custom backgrounding into this fall.  We also have a group of older cows that could use 30 days in the lot before going to the packer.  Sale barns are completely overrun and trucking is difficult to find, causing huge discounts to the cattle that do get sold down here.

Please post your information if you are looking for cattle to feed this fall, or cattle to purchase so all the Steerplanet members in need can get a hold of you.

We are in  NC, however we do have feed and have a big kill floor right down the road that is actually buying a good many down there right now.

Are you still looking?  I am aware of a guy (good caretaker) that has plenty of extra feed.  E. IA.  looking for something along these lines.  We have been hot, but blessed with enough rain (and feed).  If you are interested I'll get you two talking.  TJR

Thank you to those of you that have contacted me.  Might be some great opportunities for both parties.

Any other feeders out there that would like to get their names out there so southern folks can contact them?
