I live in Canada, and have mailing addresses in both Canada and the US, and I still don't seem to get either day off!

Was yesterday a holiday??
Momma and lil Hilltop were getting ready for 4-H and our regional show yesterday between doing the 1000 other things she does! Assistant club leader now this year also.
Moved cows and finished getting old square baler and wagon ready to make 200 square hay bales if it does not rain tonight!! Hope all this unsettled weather misses us for the next few or three weeks.
This is probably the most hectic time for a lot of us but also one of the most enjoyable with seeing some people we only see once a year.
Hope everyone had a good Canada Day <beer> <beer>

Frostback..... Are you a former Canadian?? Always wonder with the pic on your Avator

No former about it I AM A CANADIAN, but I have a green card. If I could talk my husband into moving home would do it in a minute but he says it too cold. I was born and raised in Alberta.

No Okotoks. I do not come from a family farm. I worked and saved to buy my first two shorthorns that came from Diamond Shorthorns. Still have daughters from one of those first cows.A new one this year thanks to ET. That was over 20 years ago. My dad was a RCMP officer for 20 years so that is why I like the Avatar photo. It is in memory of the four fallen up north that I cannot remember the name of the town.

Norma, the town was Mayerthorpe, AB where the four RCMP were gunned down. I am not sure if you remember Duane Farrar, Blue Ridge Shorthorns or not. Farrar's lived on the next farm to this dirt bag, and Duane told me that he had a loaded gun by his bed for many years, simply because he did not trust his neighbor. He said the night that this low life was dead, was the first night in many years that he slept through the night without waking up.

If I remember right, you were a pretty good fitter, before you got swept away to the US. Tell your hubby that Alberta really isn't a very cold place. And besides it is a dry cold!

I have tried about everything to convince him but made one fatal mistake. When we were still dating I went with Dan to Edmonton and hubby flew up there. He could not believe when I said it was a good year as it was only about -30 going to tie outs. He also knows why we drink so much Crown at the shows. Keeps the blood thin and pumping. He did say it was the friendliest show he had ever been to, but says once was enough. I am going to get him to Regina one of these years.

What cow family did they come from?? We were lucky enough to get some cows  on lease from Dan the fall of 2007 and have now become good friends with them. Our Avator pic is out of a cow from them. Maybe you can come see her at Denver in January. We also have a son out of a Baroness from another cow we raised that we are using. We have 15 cows of his here and a few of our best calves are from his cows again this year.Sure is funny how the WWW has made this even such a smaller world!!!

Happy assorted North American Holidays, eh
The livestock (show) industry is a tough one- if you've never had anything worth a damn you might as well go on the internet and rundown everybody you can.
