Has anyone ever heard of cattle active? It is a drench supplement that cow calf producers use to put extra pounds on calves and prevent sickness. We have used it in our cow calf operation with great success.

Do you think that this product has a place in the show world? We have used it on our show string this year and have seen some weight gain benefits however the best thing it does is help cattle stay on feed and water on the road at a show. We had a steer that wouldn't drink we have him a dose of cattle active (orally) and within minutes he drank 8 gallons. We have repeated the test with other calves and have had success every time.

What are your thoughts as far as adapting this product to fit the show world.

Feel free to private message me or post back if you have any intrest. I'm good friends with an owner of the company and we are trying to gauge interest!!

Thanks!

The website says you can buy a gallon of this stuff for $700 and list the following ingredients:

Corn oil, guargum, orange extract, onion extract, soybean oil, glycerine, vegetable-based fatty acids, water.

This stuff better really work for $700/gallon.  How many doses are in a gallon?

Its 10cc a dose and we have only been giving the cattle a dose every two weeks and then when we go to the shows as needed.

They also sell 500cc and 250cc bottles the gallon jugs are more for the cow calf operations that have thousands of head.

At the math we did if you buy the smallest bottle it ends up costing about $2.50 a dose so $5 a month if youre just maintaining. Its extremely cost effective.
